yesterdays nailbiting lack of eating

so last night she wasn't eating .... again....
but since she had eaten all the shrimp... i wasn't so worried and could at least get some sleep.
I gave her cypro and hoped she would self serve.... i know she did some in the night but not clean plate like she
used to do on the cypro.

this morning she wasn't too excited about food either. I had 4 servings out.... and she barely touched them.
I could tell she was wanting more shrimp and I was out of them.
So after work, and other errands, went and got her some and they are thawing out now.

the alarming part was that she used her cat box.... and it was super runny....
I need to go change her cat box... with fresh litter.... it went every where ... like on each piece of litter
and I better replace it else she might not go in there tonight.

I'm really thinking we need to re-evaluate the meds...so I will call on that tomorrow.
maybe the gengraf isn't working... maybe it is...
how do I know....
maybe she needs pred every day instead of every other....

bbl.

(((((Rhiannon))))) ((((((Shadow))))) You getting any sleep at night? I wonder if the runny poop was from too much shrimp? Is it out of the question to eliminate either the gengraf or pred so see what happens on a trial basis? Vines, appy vines, prayers and hugs being sent in the truckloads!!! And some virtual chocolate for you! :bighug::bighug:

Oh no, poor Shadow and poor you. Runny cat poo is not good, Lulu had it for a couple of weeks, wonder what's going on with Shadow?
Thanks heavens she's at least eating her shrimp. Appy and feel better vines for Shadow and hugs for you :bighug:

Gosh, this is tough, isn't it? I hope the vet has some ideas that will help. Meanwhile, Shadow knows how to get what she wants!

Shadow, cat does not live in shrimp alone! Really. You need some variety in your diet.

Appy and good poo vines on the way. Also more of these: :bighug::bighug::bighug:

@Tiger and Ruth
it is not out of the question.... the gengraf was experiemental to start with. .. mainly because the budesonide increased her bg and so does the prednisolone so the internist was trying to not send her to the moon.
it's definitely a balancing act... getting her to eat... not have diarrhea...

and I'm sitting here eating real chocolate.....:joyful:;)o_O

Such a tough road you're walking. Hope you can get some answers from your vet. In the meantime....vines and more for Shadow. Hugs for you...enjoy that chocolate.

Hi Rhiannon,
I sure hope that Shadow will get her body regulated, eat better, poop normally, and give her mamabean less to worry about. How about it, Shadow?

Chocolate is good!!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

What a tough situation you don't want it to be the shrimp because at least she will eat it. I wouldn't stop the pred as it's been keeping whatever this is at bay. The new drug would be less risky to stop in my opinion as you don't know if it is even doing anything for her. Has she ever been on flagyl? :bighug: Vines and prayers

Metronidazole ? yes... she did that for one bottle.... and that was when she first started the chronic diarrhea ( the month of March)
I could not tell if it helped.....
they had her on that... budesonide... some awful paste that was supposed to stop the diarrhea instantly ( and didn't) ... clay...
and it took 2 weeks ....
she had it so bad that she got hemorrhoids. And now iI don't know if when she goes, it's internally hurting... or if it's her protruding
anus.
@tiffmaxee

Darn it. I was hoping it might help with diarrhea and inflammation. I'm sorry. It's so hard to know what to do.

I am sorry you are having all this trouble and worry about the diarrhoea and Shadow not eating.:bighug::bighug:
I think you sitting there eating real chocolate is a great idea!

Rhiannon, you are having such a tough time with Shadow lately, sending appy vines for her and anti-frustrating vines to you, and a hug :bighug:, hope she feels better soon. In the meantime, carry on with the chocolate!

There is nothing more nerve wracking than unhappy appy, as we learned with our Zener. I am not sure what all you have in your cocktail of meds with Shadow, it is such a delicate dance. We got some pretty decent results for Zener for a time with a combination of ondansetron, cerenia and cypro.

Sorry to read about the runny poo. We shall alert the Poo Patrol for more regular inspections. Chief Inspector Crapdash and Detective Poo are more lurkers these days, but are sending "firm poo" wishes to Shadow. :bighug:

Healing prayers for Shadow and a big hug for you Rhiannon. Have you tried any nausea medication like cerenia or ondansetron for the appetite issue? More hugs and chocolate for you is good.

Why can't someone make cat food from brown moths and shrimp?! Sending appy vines, as well as firming it up vines for miss Shadow. :bighug::bighug: are for you.
