yesterday's flat yellow numbers

Crystal started out well at AMPS when I gave her 3.5uR but has since gone skywards... so frustrating. Another ever increasing dose of R at PMPS due. She's sunbathing in the catnip plant at the moment, she doesn't seem worried, it's only me pulling my hair out.

Really hot day getting underway here, already 34 and it usually peaks around 5pm so we may well get to the 38 ish (100) phew. Some friends, plus the French student who is staying with them, are coming round later to help cut down a large overhanging branch off of the gunni, which is casting shade across the pool. The French student, Taibot, wants to be an engineer and has worked out the mathmetical likely trajectory of where the branch will land, rather than crashing through the roof of the terrace....... watch this space. bbl

vines and wishes to all in need today.

Hope all goes well with the branch cutting. Sorry to see Crystal is not cooperating with you today. We complain about the snow but we have weather in the 70's now with a breeze which is how I like it.

Crystal was such a tease with that nice blue start. Paws crossed the extra R helps out.

Good luck on the gunni branch. Sounds like hot work in that weather. We are supposed to get 30's this weekend. :( It's only June, typically that heat doesn't come until later.

You asked about yogurt in Neko's condo yesterday. I use Greek style organic yoghurt. The one I'm using is 10% milk fat. Azodyl, which we are trying to see if it helps her BUN numbers, is to be given on an empty tummy, theoretically just pop in the capsule. The coating on the capsule is supposed to help it pass through the tummy to the intestines where it does it's work. Pill pockets weren't working well, capsule popping was a failure. The second choice for administration is to give it in a little bit of full fat yoghurt. Some people will give a bit of yogurt for it's probiotic properties.

suki, i just now saw your condo from yesterday - it was a full day and I didn't make it on the board. Just want to give you some encouragement. You can't beat acro without a treatment, so just think in terms of keeping her blood sugar as well under control as you can. Whether or not there's iaa, we don't know. But we know she's got acro and with that, the tumor's hormones run the show.

It's a tightrope everyone walks with it - and you're doing a superb job of balancing the elements to keep her safe while keeping her blood sugar as well controlled as possible. Anyone who has had a diabetic cat that's difficult to control understands how hard the road you are walking is - just know we're with you!

You've got a good feel for what to do - just carry on! Be the tank! :) Sending you lots of virtual encouragement! :bighug:

And some good luck that the branch goes where it's supposed to go! ;)

Thanks for looking in Peg. @Wendy&Neko thanks for confirming the use of yogurt Wendy, I always have plenty of greek style yogurt around for us anyway so will try Crystal with it and see if she likes it.
@julie & punkin (ga) thanks Julie for your wise words of encouragement. Every now and again I get a bout of the blues about Crystal which completely overwhelm me for a few days, not so much her lack of progress, frustrating as it is, but more to do with the damned acro and what it is doing to her internally. I can see the outward changes getting worse which I find very sad. Nothing I can do about it though, it will just take its toll as and when.
I've just taken her bedtime test and its 196, practically back to where we started 18 hours ago.

Well the tree surgery went well, no damage done to man or property thank goodness. Cats and Bolly watched the performance with interest from a safe distance. Had a lovely evening with friends, they have just gone home and I am well ready for my bed, the dishes can wait until the morning. night night all.

194 at AMPS, same as yesterday's morning and evening figures. So, upping the R a bit to 4.0, she's now gone back to bed after breakfast and a quick wash. Me too.

Though not bad numbers, I know you prefer blues. I think the resistance is fighting back - and hard, despite being as aggressive you are. I know you won't want to hear this, but I definitely see an increase needed. And a sizeable one. Wishing I could say otherwise, but the IAA is fighting back hard and with a vengeance.

One of our other acros near London is having the surgery next week (2 have just completed surgery in Pullman, Washington, USA). Not sure if that's really an option for you, but I remember when Julie calculated the cost of treating with high doses of insulin vs SRT. The break-even point was just a matter of months.
