Well I issued a dose threat yesterday, which Crystal ignored, so upped her Lev by 3u this morning, so far not having any effect but paws crossed for better figures later.
Vines to all in need today.

Oh Crystal...I think you ate too much at the Full Strawberry Moon Party. Sheba told me you and she shared a bowl of chocolate coated strawberries! No wonder you are both running a bit high!:joyful:
You must be feeling very frustrated Suki. :bighug::bighug:

She must have been pigging out on something naughty at the party!

I'm trying not to test her too much as I'm disappointed at every result :( oh well, in your own time Crystal.

Suki - you're testing a lot, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I worry you're getting bogged down in early-cycle numbers. Lev doesn't kick in until usually +4 of +5, so I rarely tested before then... you know that number is going to be higher (if you were also using R during that cycle, then yes, absolutely test early). So don't beat yourself up over those numbers. As you scroll down your SS, you've gone from (just like Grayson's) "Sea of Pinks" to yellows & blues. That is HUGE!!! She IS doing well! This is not a race to the greens for her. If you can stay in the blues as much as possible, that's ideal. But I'm betting that she's doing/ acting/ feeling MUCH MUCH better than before. And once you can get and stay ahead of the resistance, you can break through it. Hang in there!!! She's doing very well - and you're doing great with her!

That menu was super, so no wonder Crystal ate too much...and she and Sheba with the chocolate covered strawberries, who could resist?:cat::cat:

@Grayson & Lu , thanks Lu-Ann for your words of encouragement, I really appreciate all the support, very easy to lose sight of how far she has come. We are sitting on the terrace after dinner with a coffee, it's a perfect cat day, they are all chilling in various favourite spots, so I think it could be a lot worse. I'm not going to test her until about +5, just let her relax and enjoy herself, and me too.

Thanks Lori for dropping in, some party for the kitties that was! Funny, the beans have just finished the last of the white chocolate strawberry cheesecake that I made at the weekend for our dinner guests, glad that it's all gone now, much too fattening!

@Grayson & Lu , wise words Lu-Ann, it just seems a long wait sometimes. When she had a good day on the 5/31 after the Lev increase, I was hopeful that we had made a breakthrough, but it was short lived and we are off on the dosing scale again. As we are now at 60, which is 2 full syringes, do you think it's worth trying the R again to help pull down the Lev? I probably need to buy some larger capacity syringes as well.

This morning's AMPS was 279, roughly where we left off last night. I shall be out most of the day, but I think she is pretty safe to leave (antijinx) lthough DH will be here to feed, but not test. I will see where she is at +4, I can always pop home at lunchtime if needed.

I also did see her eating Mikey's birfday cake auntie Suki, at the full strawberry moon party last night and smashin' it on everyone's faces. I did fink she ate a lot but so did I , it was so yummy........I fink Neko bring the cake to ze party. Ze full story is on Mikeys condo. But don't be cross wiv Crystal she had so much fun..........

I definitely would think about adding some R back into the mix. Give the Lev a little lower number to work on. Although yellow is better than pink, the goal should be to spend as much time as possible under renal threshold to give the kidneys a break.

Come on down Crystal - a little bit more blue please.

Suki - check out the tab on Grayson's (and Spartacus and Herb's) SS for Lev May 31-Dec 31, 2012 (and subsequent tabs). You'll see how fast we climbed, how long we stayed at our max dose, and how he waffled on the way down. Keep in mind, we had barely started Lev when we went for SRT in July - and was nowhere near his dose or regulation. He continued to climb, then gave me good numbers - pretty much for the first time - in October. I studied Sooty's (Perry & Cathy's acro) SS to see how the descent worked. He, too, waffled or cha-cha'ed. 3 steps forward, 1 step back. Climb a little, drop a little, back up, back down. I think that's consistent with most of the rest of the insulin resistant kitties. We did have to go to the 50u syringes. Luckily our breakthrough was there, so other than another syringe for R, I never had to break out a second syringe. As much as you can be, the ticket is chasing that resistance aggressively. I can't say if it was our breakthrough or the SRT or a combination thereof. I just remember thinking when we got down to 10u that if we could just stay there, we would have been successful. I was tickled to get down to .5u!!! (though I have to say, micro-dosing is much harder - at least on old eyes squinting at a syringe - than mega-dosing!) :)
