late posting today, had to be out early this morning to avoid the heat and was out for a lot longer than I wanted to be shopping with BF - back in time for Crystal's +10. I must admit I was getting slightly worried about leaving her that length of time but had left DH in charge of feeding her every couple of hours and it doesn't look like she shifted much since the +3, thank goodness no harm done.

I'll increase the R tonight as I think as it looks like the 7uR is going a bit stale on her. Very hot and very sticky again despite a big T/storm last night, so not much sleep again for us all. woke up to find Crystal had joined us some time during the night so she had breakfast in bed and her shots as she didn't really want to move. I could quite easily have stayed in bed with her for a good few hours.

It our anniversary today so a nice meal planned and a bottle of bubbles, hope to catch up on visits later.

Vines and wishes to all

Crystal does like to be relatively flat - I'm glad you were able to get out and away from testing a bit while she was safe. Good luck with the R increase.

Happy Anniversary! Can I ask how long? Enjoy the dinner.

@Wendy&Neko - 12 years, but we lived together for 12 years before getting hitched and moving to France, 2nd marriages for both of us ......... and the last, hopefully!

Cooked far too much, kitties are very happy to have duck instead of canned cat food.

Thanks Peg for your good wishes.

Crystal's +3 was 225, coming down a little....paws crossed

(((Suki))) Happy Anniversary, technically since you lived together 24 years, that deserves the Silver Anniversary gift IMHO!

Come down just a wee bit more Crystal, but not too far as to interrupt mamabeans evening!

Happy Anniversary! Wow, 24 yrs is a LONG time!

Barrington is going to RVC this weekend for the surgery Monday. At some point, you evaluate the cost of continued insulin/treatment with the cost of the surgery or SRT. I know Julie & Pumpkin calculated the break-even point to be about 5 months. That was a factor for me. Not sure how much at RVC, but maybe worth asking.

You've been at this dose for pretty much a month. I know it's hard... but I'd have to say you need to increase the Lev. I don't know at what point MOST people break through the resistance. Seems like most on FB/Acro have maxed at 18 or 30u. I went to 50u +3uR; others 86 and 104 and +++. The +++ have had the surgery or will be.

How is Crystal acting? Is she happy? Otherwise healthy? All P's in place?

@Grayson & Lu
Hi Lu-Ann, well she seems pretty quiet tonight (but then again the other three are as well, the heat is knocking us all out) and a bit bad tempered when I went to pick her up to bring her indoors. The only P I can say with certainty is that she is eating well, as to pee nd poo, usually goes outside and only uses LB as a last resort. Washing is a bit spasmodic, her coat is quite greasy down her back. Purrs when stroked but not playful - not too sure what to make of her. Ill be around all day tomorrow so I can watch her properly, today was a bit of a disaster for monitoring her. She sometimes gives me a very penetrating "sad" look, I do wonder if this acro is causing her pain/discomfort anywhere, hard to know.:(
Her +6.5 bedtime test was 261.

Hi Suki
HappyWedding Anniversary! I hope you both have a lovely day.

I saw on the news last night that the UK was also having a heat wave.......very hot over there for you all..does it usually get that hot in summer?
We are having really cold weather here at the moment. It was 13 yesterday but they said with the wind chill factor, it felt like 6 and it sure did....really cold for us. Had a text from the kids at the snow and they said it was -13 during the late afternoon and snowing......thought it would be too cold to snow.....but it was...
Hope Crystal gives you some good numbers today

Kitties are very good at hiding pain. A number of us with acrocats give buprenorphone regularly for pain. Neko has bad arthritis, but human acros get headaches and other pains so it's suspected the kitties do too. Maybe talk to you vet about a trial for bupe, to see if it makes a difference. When I started Neko on bupe, she got a lot more engaged and purred a lot more. Some people have tried gabapentin - I tried it too, but it only made Neko sleepy, so I stopped it.

@Bron and Sheba - -13 is perfectly fine skiing weather!

270 at AMPS, 8uR given.
Thanks Bron and Marilyn for your good wishes.
Wendy, I'll speak to my vet about the bupe, might be worth a try. She seems a bit brighter this morning, it's cool outside so Crystal and I have walked round the garden, stopping to investigate things en route and she is now laying on the catnip, Tiggy is patiently waiting for her to vacate the spot so that she can have her turn rolling in it.
I'm just going to water the garden as its going to be another high 30's today.

@julie & punkin (ga) thanks for your good wishes Julie, I hadn't thought of it like that but yes, he was on a long trial, but we got there in the end!

She certainly is guzzling the R, I'm going to try upping the R every day, so 2 cycles before a 1u increase. If this doesn't work then I will increae the Lev. She's proving a very hard nut to crack.
