Thanks guys. Pretty yukie vet visit to say the least. Beenie tends to get car sick. She vomited on the way there and on the way back it came out the other end. What a mess. I just finished cleaning her, the carrier, my bathroom and me. She does not travel well to say the least. This was the first time she had an accident like this though. Any ideas for future prevention? I can not do that again. My vet is a good 20 minute drive. I may have to find a closer vet for her unless anyone has ideas on calming her through out the car ride. I will ask my vet too. :(

@StephG I would take just a sh**ty foot any day after all the cat parts I just had to clean.o_O

Some people use Rescue Remedy to calm their cats in the car. If you try it, make sure it is the one for pets and not people. :bighug::bighug:

Oh you poor thing! What a mess! I have used Rescue Remedy for my cats for different reasons but not necessarily for traveling. I never knew there was one for pets. I use the one I use for the cats and dogs as per my homeopath.

You could also try the Feliaway spray and spray in onto a towel and put that into the carrier. It also helps to calm then down while traveling.

Thanks Bobbie! I'm certainly willing to try anything to avoid that happening again. I did speak to my vets office and they said they could give me something to calm her as well. Don't think I'll do another trip to the vet without something. Beenie is due for her wellness exam next month so we'll see how it goes then.

Oh no! Poor thing! And poor you, having to clean all of that up! I hope she is feeling better now that she's had some time at home to settle. :(:bighug:

How was the rest of the vet visit?

I used Feliway spray in the carrier and Rescue Remedy for pets drops in the AM before the visit. And puppy pee pads in the bottom of the carrier. If they get soiled, usually vetty will give you a fresh one on their end.

Are there any vets in your area that do house calls? We have some here that will do home visits for the basics, including blood draws, but you need to go to a clinic for any operations.

The visit went quickly, just there to draw blood. However she did gain 2lbs and shouldn't gain anymore. Her breathing was a bit raspy he said but not to a point where was overly concerned.

I have Feliaway spray in the house and will definitely try that next time. The pee pad would help with the clean up of the carrier but the problem was she stepped and laid in the mushy poop so it was cleaning her that was the big challenge yesterday. She's never had a bath and trying to rinse her off, mainly her paws, was such a struggle. I was able to wipe off her body with wet washcloth but it took forever. I gave her breaks in between.

My vet will do house calls but that is a $100 charge. May be worth it.o_O
