OH's first day out of the house and Jenks is already flat and green. If we count the night of the 30th, he's been under 100 for 30+ hours now. It's both amazing and confounding. It's just Jenks and I here on our own for the next few days, so let's all watch and see what he can do! Gooooooo Jenks! :D

It's been a pretty exhausting day for me. Not so much for Jenks because he's slept most of it away.

When I got up to spot check him at +4, I was expecting him to be flat in the 60s-70s. Instead, what I found was Jenks waiting outside the door meowing, every bit of breakfast food on the plate licked clean, and a test result of 39 (45 on the recheck, both within meter variance). In my stupor, I gave him some gravy and some karo, some dry treats, and opened another can of food which he went after in large gaping bites. He was up to safe numbers an hour later, so I tried to catch a few more zzzzz's before the next check-in. A couple hours later, he was up to 103 and I was both thankful that he didn't dive again, but also a little worried that he might blow up into the evening. But by PMPS, he's back down to 70! And hungry again!!!! Maybe I'll have to put two cans of food out in the AM until we get his numbers stabilized....

This is only our third cycle at 10U, but that 39/45 really complicates the decision-making process. It happened at the worst possible time of day for me, and it's also a no-nonsense number. I reviewed the spreadsheet from the last time OH left town, and we ultimately made it down to 9.5U. So I made the executive decision to cut the dose another half unit to 9.5U tonight. I hope it's exactly what he needs to just surf out this coming week in great, but safe, numbers!

Good luck with the new dose. Wise decision to reduce when you are solo bean and Jenks is up to his usual antics with OH away.

Woke up to find Jenks literally spread eagle on the food plate eating from the side opposite to him, so I hurried to test him thinking he was low again. Nope, just a perfectly pleasant 83. Maybe he just wanted some attention, or perhaps it's his body not knowing how to process being in such great numbers for this amount of time. Back in a couple hours for midcycle feeding. Yawn.

Hmmm, we're steadily, but still slightly, up so far tonight. I'm not going to try to ascribe any meaning to it. For all I know, he could've eaten some leftover food an hour or so ago.

@LizzieInTexas - Thanks! Hope all is well with you guys and Gizmo!
