Lantus dose w/o food

I'm very concerned....I gave my cat his shot .25 U, assuming he would eat, bc he sometimes doesn't eat right at the shot time, but a little after. Well, 45 min after shot, he still hadn't eaten and he vomited. I'm concerned what this evening may bring.

Lantus takes a couple hours to onset, so you have a bit of time yet to get food in. Try giving just a tsp or two and see if he eats and keeps it down. Then another amount 20 minutes after that.

Can you stay up tonight to monitor him? I would get a test at +2 to start.

He did end up eating.....a really good amount, and then some. Tested him at +2, he went down to 210. I left food out for overnight. I need to be up in 6 hrs for work, do u suggest I test again in 2 more hours??

If his +2 is lower than the preshot, I would get another test, yes.
