Well, we made it safely to the hotel last night, thank goodness. We ran into the storm of the century. It was pretty rocky there for a bit. It was really crazy because one minute it would be pouring massive amounts of rain and then the next the road would be covered with enough sleet and hail to look like a good day's worth of snow/ice accumulation. We had to pull off several times. I got some good video of it for the vlog, but we did not make the hotel until late so pretty much crashed right after we walked in the door!

Pig's numbers jumped fast once we hit the bad weather. He was NOT a fan... Poor guy. However, he still handled it really well, but from Mom's lap. Even tough guys get to be scared sometimes.

He slept with me for a bit last night, but spent most of his time under the bed. I do find that a tad unusual. I think he is just really ready to be home.

We did have a fun adventure this morning before leaving out. I heard a funny noise followed by the clinking of kitty tags. I said "Oh no... Pig, what are you doing?", and then I hear my driver going "Oh no! Oh no!"... By the time I got over to them to see what was going on I heard the low, guttural growl of a cat protecting something and then a very loud and assertive "hiss" :cat: in Michael's general direction.... I realized then what was going on and Pig was taking advantage of his position...:p I swooped in and scruffed him quick so that I could pry open his panther jaws.... I managed to wrest the stole bit of breakfast sausage from his mouth before he could swallow it.. :woot: This cat... He was a wild man over that sausage link. Whoa Black Biscuit had struck again... The infamous breakfast thief... Never leave your eggs unattended... :p No worries, he promptly got some Pig appropriate licks of food from is breakfast bowl... :)

Back on the road again and hoping to make Limon, Co before stopping again. However, per radar the weather might determine that for us!

This was the hail. Thank you, me too. Be safe out there!

Still laughing, Pig and the sausage link adventure! Yanno, he looks like a little cuddle toy, then the hidden personality emerges, a very fierce warrior puddy! Tremble and beware. That little cuddle toy warrior puddy has captured my heart.

Oh yes! He is very cuddly and lovely until he is more confident, then he is nothing if not diabolical! Black kitties gotta keep up their image... :p How is Miss Idjit today??

And :eek::eek::eek: You guys are going to be getting snow!!! I think I looked at the weather map right....

:nailbiting:Whoa sounds like a really bad storm to be driving in. Glad you guys got to the hotel safe and sound and slept well.

I didn't know "pigs" eat sausage:p
I have tried to explain to him that it is a bit cannibalistic.. Alas, the smells tell him that does not matter.. :p

Thank you! Weather has been a bit uneventful if not dreary today. Which is fine by me. That stuff last night was not a fun thing to deal with...

Cats love bacon ,sausage is close enough!

We stayed in Billings too, can't remember the hotel, but it wasn't a closet.

Sending light winds to blow away those ugly clouds. What you saw yesaterday was why I flew down in November. That plus the cross wind, snow shed warnings.

Thank you! They are finally starting to break and we ran into a gorgeous rainbow! I will give you credit for that! :)

I had a kitty many, many years ago that got into an unattended plate of bacon.. There is no telling how much of it he ate, but oh my the aftermath... The LB was never the same.

I believe where we stayed was called the Kelley Hotel..?? The rooms were huge and very comparably priced. It worked out fantastic for Pig because it gave him quite a bit of room to stretch his legs. Apparently, he also liked their breakfast sausage...:p

Idjit is fine, he looks like a big bruiser, tough guy cause he's so big, but he's afraid of much. Can't shake out a plastic shopping bag anywhere in his vicinity. He's not a cuddler lap cat, but he tenderly "leans" his weight against my lower legs and feet at night. And he patiently lets me pet him and kiss his fuzzy head when he's napping on my bed. He also lets me open and close doors for him and feed him.

Oh! Give my condolences to MR Idjit... I have an awful habit of that... But, it is good to know that he 'allows' you to care for him.. :p You know, my civie tail is a Maine and just slightly bigger (pound wise) than Idjit... He is the exact same way in regards to being a scardy cat... If I so much as look at a trash bag or broom he scoots off to the next room. Nevermind Satan's vacuum. He is a lap guy, though... Like, obsessively so... That cat lives and breathes to be on top of me or in my food... No personal space.. But, I would not want them any other way...

LOL big time here. That is great. I'm glad to hear you guys are almost home.

Leo caught an Anole Lizard on the back porch a few days ago. Same thing as Pig. Lots of growls as I approached. I kept trying to get it. Next thing I know...chomp chomp, and good bye Mr. Lizard. As least it was quick.

I refuse to acknowledge any idea and/or predictions of snow. It's just billowy dark cloudy and rainy. Tired of this, I want to garden.
I do not blame you there. I can't even imagine. I was sick of this weather before we left the OK and it was sort of warming up there.... We passed quite a bit of snow on the way there and back. However, I will say this. The length of your days is amazing! They seemed to stretch forever!

Safe travels to you with all good weather! You are a wonderful Bean for your boy!
Thank you!! :bighug::bighug::bighug: A very wise person said to me once that "we all just sort of learn to do what we must" and I have taken this to heart. The love I have for my boys will not allow anything less than greatness, so it is a must that I give them the world and I intend to do just that.... :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Awww I love, love, love this!!! Hey.. the lizard was just a snack... Sheesh. :p I find it pretty impressive that Leo knows what to do with them. Pig and Tail both just catch things and play with them. Well, correction. Pig catches them and plays with them until they go caput, but Tail will knock them silly until they can barely move and then just sit there for hours staring in their general direction... He is such a killa...

I gotta hone up on my computer skills... I wanna make some of these cutie patotie pictures!! :woot:

Thanks. I'm using the basics on an old desktop PC, although I'm converting to a high end laptop in the next month (core i-7, 16gb ram, 500 gb ssd, touchscreen). Anyhow just the basic tools:
- pull picture off phone
- crop and compress in MS Paint
- add captions in powerpoint
- screencap the powerpoint slide

So nothing fancy here. We have no longterm anole lizards here. We used to. But Leo and LD get them. We do have mediterranean geckos, but only the ones which stay above 4 feet on the outside walls. And bugs in the house, I don't think so. They get tortured to death by kittehs.

Oh yes.. That would work! I think I really over complicate things sometimes.

This cracks me up! Poor lizards! But I bet the boys really enjoy it! Mine are not as rugged.... lol. They stalk tennis balls and catnip rainbows. Everything else is a non-entity.

WOW! Never a dull moment.
Save travels tomorrow. Life will seem dull after this week.
Go Pig!
Thank you!
No, not with Pig around. There is always something exciting going on. Your are right, though. I almost dread going back to the drudgery... Yet, I think Pig and Tail crave that routine and comfort. It works well for them and for me, but the break has been quite nice! I do not think I could have asked for a better vacation!

Just catching up on Pig’s adventures. Glad the weather was better today and that you will be home shortly. Safe traveling.
Thank you!! Yes, the weather was frightful. Now it is just cold and wet. No worries, though.. We are safely tucked in a hotel at the moment and Pig is loving life!

I just wanted to share this with you. After seeing the vidoes and pictures I started working on this with your Pig in mind. I have started making dot mandalas to pass the time. It's a work in progress.
Oh! This is simply gorgeous! Did you free hand that? The symmetry on it is really something special! How do you make them? With acrylic on fabric or is that fabric paint?

You could certainly sell those for a pretty good profit, I would imagine! That is so beautiful!

Well, it looks like the depot is full and we are right in our target range! I like that a lot.... Looking good for tomorrow's trip!

We called it a night early because we were at the point in our choice for hotels that we either stayed where we were or we pushed for 4-6 more hours... We opted for the easier night. Pig needed a break anyways. I will have two extra day when we get home so we are not on the most stringent of time schedules...

I'm so glad you found things to enjoy on this trip, besides Pig, of course. I always welcome the lengthening of days in Spring into Summer. And get mighty grumpy when days get shorter and darker in Autumn, I detest Winter, if I was rich I would follow the sun. So glad the PNW had what you needed and an aside of appeal.

I think the best part was getting to visit WSU... That was a pretty awe inspiring experience.. Of course, the country up that way is simply gorgeous. We joked several times about just not going back...If it was not for the cold then I would totally consider living there, but I am like you... I abhor winter weather.. So, I must agree with following the sun. I lived for several years in Phoenix and Las Vegas and I will say that the weather was superb! Hot and dry...

I was blown away by the forests along our drive. Simply mesmerizing... I would certainly like to make that trip again someday!

Part of my family lived in Sequim WA. My Dad's last year was in a full-care home in Forks, WA. It was fun to see the massive forests there. I recommend it if you ever get a chance. Lots of rain, but miles of evergreen forests.
